Kaurna Planting in Bowden

1 December 2021

At the end of October, Bowden was lucky to experience the addition of a new edible garden, with a twist.

The planting involved students from Kaurna Plains, along with some representatives from RAW Group, planting within the newly created indigenous garden. Once established, this will be an edible garden featuring native plants, and will be available for the Bowden community to enjoy. It will also complement the already planted herb garden.

The new indigenous garden is located in Wardli-ana Tapa Reserve, within the Guild Terraces development. Wardli-ana Tapa translates into the English meaning of “journey home”. This sits within a broader plan to integrate the reserve through Karra Tapa Lane (path to the Red Gum Tree) to the gum tree near The Loose Caboose, as a cultural and storytelling experience.

Many thanks to the children of the Kaurna Plains school and RAW Group for helping create what we know will be a beautiful part of Bowden’s future.
